Shannon
‘Shannon’ is a beautiful Lab cross youngster, now around 6 months old, who has settled into her Devon foster home with remarkable ease. Initially the more reserved of the two sisters, Shannon has blossomed into a playful, affectionate and intelligent young dog who is discovering that life can be fun. In just a short space of time she has learned routines, comes when called, sleeps quietly through the night, remains clean indoors, travels well, and happily lives alongside other dogs. Her foster describes her as a bright little girl with a quiet strength of character who simply needed the chance to relax and feel safe. She loves toys, enjoys exploring the garden, and has become a cheerful playmate to both her sister and her foster family's dogs. Unfazed by livestock, household noises and everyday life, Shannon has shown herself to be adaptable, gentle and eager to learn. She can be homed separately from her sister or alongside another friendly dog and is ready to bring loyalty, companionship and plenty of happy adventures to her forever family.

About Shannon
Lab X pup ‘Shannon’ now 5-7mths of age. She’s a stunning & demure little lady.
Exeter Devon fostered with her sister
UK Bio -
Playful & placid ‘Shannon’ loves other dogs, quick to learn & been no trouble whatsoever from day 1 in Devon foster along with her sister.
Shannon’s UK update & outstanding appraisal from the foster from the moment the siblings arrived in the UK. They didn’t need to be house trained like most of our rescues, they are great with other dogs, they learn quickly, the trip hasn’t phased them & they are unfazed around live stock & noises. They have surpassed even the charities faith in their beautiful natures & ability to adapt.
We have assessed their needs & we feel they can be homed separately though would benefit from other dogs to play with especially as they’re used to that in their foster home. For anyone who is used to having a couple of dogs in their life &/or a space in their hearts for two joyful companions then they are ready made for you. Many people say ‘two dogs aren’t very different to one’ & ‘they keep each other company and tire each other out so it’s actually very easy’. They will be content to find their paths through life as individuals & would be as ecstatic to continue on the journey through the happy years as a team.
It’s been amazing to see them blossom with their lovely foster home and how adjusted they were from the get go. Thank you to our readers for giving the charity the opportunity to assess their needs & for your interest. We have left the EU bio attached so you can follow their ‘story’ chronically.
Without further ado in the words of the foster I give you ‘Shannon’:-
“30th May only 6hrs after their long journey
Hi Leesa,
The girls are doing really well. They look really well after their long journey.
Beanie is a happy chappie.“
*Beanie was enjoying a bolt hole at the fosters for Shauna and Shannon before being transferred close by to his foster home.”

“The adventures of Shannon and Shauna.
In a very short space in time, Shauna and Shannon has settled into their foster home. Their previous existence and understanding of the world was of concrete floors and metal bars at a dog compound. Despite their humble beginnings, both dogs has already demonstrated the ability to adapt, learn commands and embrace their new environment with unreserved joy.
Shannon is a little wary of people, though her strength of spirit and enjoyment of the toys provided shows that she just needs to be given the space to breathe and relax. Her demeanor has already transformed into a playful girl, a little rocket rolling around on the grass, showing her appreciation by licking my hand and openly welcoming me this morning, day 2.
She is respectful of my three dogs and has shown a good understanding of doggie etiquette. She has an underlining strength of character and intelligence that, in time, will fill anyone's heart with love and joy.
Shauna is a placid, open hearted girl. She enjoys a body massage and appreciates the encouragement and attention you give her.
Shauna has a lovely temperament and enjoys the company of other dogs. She has open body language and demonstrates the type of swagger that points to her zen like qualities. Her new surroundings has not fazed her at all.
Both dogs are enjoying the grassy garden, smelling the flowers and bushes, sponging up everything their new environment has to offer.
Shauna and Shannon are sisters. Their love and friendly companionship is clear to see, however, they are separate in their personalities and could settle individually into different homes with another dog to guide them. That being said, I am a dreamer and remain hopeful that a loving family may step forward and open their hearts to having both dogs, appreciating the benefits of keeping them together so that they may continue their journey of a better life, full of adventures.

Shauna and Shannon have been staying with us for one week now. It is impressive how quickly they have adapted to a new environment. Their individual growth has been joyful to watch. Truely, both dogs brighten your day, put a smile on your face and have become playful buddies to my three canines.
Both dogs come when called, sleep quietly at night, feed from separate bowls near each other without aggression and continue to remain clean during the night.
Shauna and Shannon enjoy making use of the toys and when an occasional 'tug of war' ensues, its always good natured, each dog graceful when conceding to the other sibling.
No distress is observed whilst hoovering or a washing machine spinning and they are unresponsive to horses and vehicles passing by.
All of these amazing attributes demonstrate their placid natures, ability to adjust, their intelligence to pick up routines and capacity to learn instructions quickly.”

“A little about me in my own words (please remember that humans are not defined by their pasts alone- neither are we). I’m told I’ve clearly got Labrador in me though I don’t know much about these things. Alls I’ve really known of my brief time on this earth is neglect, abandonment & indifference. So if you’re looking to rescue not buy & help a dog really in need that would be me. On top of that when I thought it couldn’t get any worse we were orphaned somehow - was our mother hurt? Were we taken from her? Leesa said this is very normal in some parts. The
consequence for us is that we were left in a municipality shelter as babies & here we continue to be st risk of homelessness or being taken by someone who isn’t so kind. You can chat to leesa to learn more. We are vulnerable to the threats of nature & man & that’s why we need you to pick us. I say ‘we’ because I have a sister called ‘Shauna’. Leesas mum named us and like so many other dogs in our predicament the welfare is trying to save us before it’s too late. We are currently advertised individually which is no different than a breeder would do as not everyone wants two dogs. We know we are related that’s our instinct and we take solace in one another. Whilst we may not be joined at the hip our reliance upon one another in a shelter context where there is little stimuli, attention or comfort is greater than it may be in a home environment. We are leaving together (the foster offered to help us both) & we will be assessed once we’ve had chance to decompress to see whether we will be more or less dependant on each other. You’ll be relieved that the welfare cares to put our needs first & we will keep you updated when our second Devonshire catalogue is prepared.
I’m the more bashful one and my sister often shields me so if you wanted two dogs and used to that then of course we would be delighted. The lovely lady who will care for us & already has three dogs from BTC said that she observed Shauna supporting me & positioning herself in front of me. We really get on. They say if you have one you may as well have two :) and we can keep each other busy so often this can be a beneficial way forward. If you have resident dogs &/or friends & family with pooches then we will love that as you see in our videos. As we don’t have a past we particularly remember & we were here from an early age we don’t have baggage only sadness currently. Having said that leesa helps all manner of older dogs after horrific abuse & unless she told you would never know. We don’t let it define us & we just keep loving & moving forward. It’s very boring here and not very comfortable & we are trying to get to better times. Just to be someone’s 1% would be an improvement. We’ve never been that let alone 100%. We will be fine around cats, respectful children & are used to people & even walks from time to time. We’re also quiet- did you hear us bark once? I’m unique as I have a mini tail, no doubt from birth and I’m told I’m very pretty like my sister. I’m inquisitive & desperate to get amongst things as you can see. With all the natural chaos in places like this it’s not always possible to find the courage to work my way to the front though I’m never far behind. I’m passive, gentle & need your home to truly blossom where it’s joyous and I’ve got lots of time & attention from people.
