About Zeya

‘Zeya’ is a beautiful golden retriever looking lass who at 2yrs old deserves to find her special people- the vet remarked on how great she is with ‘all dogs’ ©

A little bit about me in my own words:

Leesa’s mum christened me ‘Zeya’. Leesa is the charities founder & owner & her mum does most of the naming. In Europe they called me ‘zlatist’ meaning ‘goldy’. When I say ‘they’ i am referring to the government shelter officials who run the pound. Sadly I am at risk & the charity is planning on saving me… well hopefully though that depends on you & finding a suitable home. You can ask the welfare for more details about the kind of rescue work they do & read about it in the introductory pack when you make an enquiry. Since a tiny deserted pup I have existed here & was due to be redistributed back into homelessness which is the government policy in some countries. Leesa helps us so that this won’t be our fate or worse still given away to people who aren’t kind. Can you visualise the terror I would feel? Alls I have ever known is dependency upon humans & my own kind. I would not be able to fend for myself and would be vulnerable. 2 years later I am still here. Like many dogs that Break the chains have found salvation for I am astounding & will be ecstatic to belong to you. Testimony to my nature I have remained affable, adjusted, focused on people & other dogs & adore my interactions with both. I am resolute & spirited adapting to my somewhat boring concrete enclosure with an even & calm demeanour every day. If I was human I would not navigate this environment with the same composure & dignity I do not think. Our natures are measured by our ability to survive and bounce back. What I yearn for is a home & that can be from 1-to as many households members as there are & with or without other pets. I just want a bed for the first time, compassion & some pleasant walks. I’d like doggy play date opportunities & to taste a traditional UK Sunday roast- Leesa said that might be a possibility if you pick me.

The vet who sees so many dogs was particularly compelled by my personality as I get on with all dogs and people. When you consider how many I’ve met through the years of all temperaments & circumstance then this says a lot. I have been sympathetic to everything around me when my own predicament is without stimuli or hope. You would never look back if you picked me.
