Dahlia
Dahlia is a stunning 2–3-year-old girl, believed to be a Labrador/ Retriever mix, with a beautifully proportioned frame of around 15–16kg. She's currently being kept safe in an orangery, believe it or not, because without this temporary refuge she would be at risk. Like so many dogs born into circumstances of abandonment and neglect, Dahlia has been let down by the humans who should have cared for her. Yet she still reaches out for cuddles, greets people with warmth and gently says hello to visiting toddlers, showing a lovely awareness of their little size and fragility. She's a wonderfully friendly girl with people and children, and a strikingly matriarchal presence around other dogs. Dahlia is confident and assertive, and coexists with other dogs where her leadership is respected. She has a strong personality, but it's important to remember that life without the security, attention, walks and comforts of a proper home can test any of us. Dahlia has spent far too long waiting in a temporary place that, despite the kindness of those caring for her, cannot offer everything she needs. She deserves a warm bed, adventures, affection and people who will understand and appreciate her. We want this Christmas to be her first in a real forever home. ‘Dahlia’ is a stunning lass who we believe is a lab/retriever mix and at a moderate 15-16kg is a nicely proportioned pooch. She’s 2-3yrs old & very friendly with people & children as seen.
She’s currently being kept safe in an Orangery believe it or not because if she wasn’t she’d be at risk. She’s one of many dogs let down by the countrymen they were unfortunate enough to be born to and her life matters. They all do. Despite the abandonment & destitution they put their faith in humans and they don’t hold the indifferences & neglect against us. Dahlia will always reach in for a cuddle & will gently say hello to the visiting toddlers that she doesn’t live with every day yet senses their fragility even when her existence is so bereft.
What a matriarchal figure she is, so passive & so handsome. Dahlia is also assertive and coexists with other dogs where she is respected as the leader.
She doesn’t take any prisoners so to speak though without a warm bed, attention, walks & love on tap it’s hard not to feel tested by the environment. We humans would and do in exactly the same way. We don’t want to be homeless either. We look for a home for these majestic creatures so their emotions and challenges can dissipate when life provides what they always should have known & deserve- is that you?
Dahlia has been in this somewhat grim though caring place (providing all they can with little resources) for some time and she really needs her special persons.
