Shay
Shay is a stunning 1-year-old shepherd-type girl with a beautiful brindle coat, a gentle soul, and a temperament that has earned special praise from the shelter vet, who described her as "very good" and exceptional with other dogs. Thoughtful, affectionate, and wonderfully easy-going, Shay has a calm, dignified presence that makes her a pleasure to be around. Despite her larger size, she is light on her feet and carries herself with the quiet confidence of a true gentle giant, getting along effortlessly with canine companions while remaining equally happy as the centre of someone's world. Having never known the security of a loving home, Shay is now searching for the person or family who will recognise the incredible companion waiting beneath her understated exterior.

A little bit about me in my own words:
Leesa the charities rescuer & founder first saw me in April of 26’. She was visiting other dogs in the main though something about me caught her eye & she made up her mind there & then to find me a good home. I’m in a municipality shelter at risk. You can ask the charity about this. I know my reality is a grim one after I was abandoned like litter. I’ve never been anyone’s 1% let alone 100. Leesa thinks that my special person won’t be looking for the small fluffy cute rescue that often gets chosen over the underdog (me) but what some of her adopters call a ‘proper dog’ which made me laugh a bit. I know the vet was telling the rescue owner that I’m a ‘very good’ dog & ‘great’ with my own kind. She was very particular to praise my nature and as there are so many boys & girls needing help a specific comment about one is significant. You can take it that I must have a lovely temperament indeed to have been highlighted by an experienced vet. I stand out to someone who has literally seen thousands of animals in their career. I’m affectionate, quite ambling & laid back. I definitely fit into the category that leesa’s charity is often trying to promote:-
‘Ambling & sedate adoptions. Big & energetic? No. Big dogs don’t drag you through life. Dispel the misconceptions & adopt a large marshmallow dog today.’The reason this describes me well is because I’m light on my feet. Size should be measured with more than a ruler but also with nature. Small dogs can walk big on a lead and bigger dogs can be diminutive in their presence & saunter along side you. Don’t judge us by our proportions alone but by all we can offer as your match is more meaningful than our height. I am respected in the enclosure and you can see how effortlessly I navigate with my friends. I am dignified and thoughtful to their needs. I do not dominate nor hide away and I’m ideal if you have dogs in your family, where you walk or resident with you. I can be adopted alone quite happily too. When I was abandoned I’d have been around cats & older children above 5yrs are welcome. There will be more to learn about me but if I talk any longer leesa won’t get to post my advert and she’s already falling behind. She has so much to do and I’m only just getting my chance now. Please save me & choose a dog that needs you not necessarily the one that you want.
